New Project development of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 to ENEL GP Hellas by AQS

Brief Description:

ENEL GREEN POWER produces, distributes and sells electricity and gas from renewable energy sources. In this it operates 13 RES Plants of 133,35 MW total capacity: & 9 controlled Companies. The Company is a subsidiary of Enel SpA, Italy’s largest power company, and Europe’s second listed utility by installed capacity.
Enel is present in 23 countries with a generating capacity of approximately 95,000 MW, serving 60.8 million power and gas customers.

Project Title - AQS Support:

Development and implementation of an Integrated Processes Management System for EGPH Group (13 plants plus EGPH central offices).

AQS responsibility is to formulate and implement an Integrated Process Management System so as to be issued a single certification for EGPH Group, which will refer to both project companies & its projects and EGPH processes. Moreover, the Integrated System will cover the requirements of Enel Group SOPs and guidelines and will be compliant to international standards ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 & OHSAS 18001:2007. The official language of the system’s documentation is English.

The Integrated Process Management System of EGPH includes the following structural elements:


a) Processes covering commonly used requirements and rules. It will be valid and applied to all the different functional areas of the integrated system.

b) Processes that cover separate needs according to standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and EGPH requirements but with common use in all project companies and EGPH premises.

c) Processes that cover special needs and EGPH requirements of each project company separately or only EGPH premises.


The project milestones are:

a.   Diagnosis and System Definition: This phase consists of the initial EGPH Managers training, the collection of standing company manuals, procedures and existing studies, visits to indicative sites and the approval of the Company’s Processes list to be designed.

b.   System Design: This phase consists of the design and approval of the system’s processes and Management Manual together with the structure of adequate Key Performance Indicators.

c.   System Implementation: This phase consists of the detailed training of EGPH’s personnel for process design methodology and process management approach. Moreover AQS project team will facilitate EGPH’s personnel for the implementation of the Integrated System.

d.   Internal Audit: During this phase, AQS auditors will perform a detailed audit to all EGPH processes and will manage the potential non-conformities. A training of EGPH auditors will take place as well.

e.   Final acceptance – certification: During this phase the system will be finally accepted by EGPH top management and AQS will provide assistance to the certification process

f.    System Maintenance and improvement: AQS will perform regular audits in a yearly basis and will provide proposals for System’s improvement.


During the project AQS team is having meeting with EGPH executives in a weekly basis, according to projects requirements and is providing continuous facilitation and support. The meetings are taking place either at EGPH or AQS premises. Communication techniques such as call conferencing or video conferencing are used.

With the participation of project managers from both companies a Project Review Meeting is taking place every two weeks. Once a month, AQS Project Manager is presenting a report to EGPH Country Manager.
